Product Introduction
Geriflo-D Tablet SR is a combination medication used to treat Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a condition where the prostate gland becomes enlarged, causing urinary problems. The tablet contains two active ingredients, Tamsulosin and Dutasteride, which work together to relieve symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and a slow urine flow. This medication helps men with BPH by improving urine flow and reducing the size of the prostate gland. However, it is not used to prevent or treat prostate cancer.
You should take Geriflo-D Tablet SR once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. It may take up to 4 weeks to notice an improvement in symptoms, and up to 6 months to experience the full benefit. To achieve the best results, it is essential to take the medicine regularly and not to miss doses. If symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks or worsen, consult your doctor.

Benefits of Geriflo-D Tablet SR
- In the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH):
BPH can cause various urinary problems such as difficulty passing urine, frequent or urgent need to urinate, and slower urine flow. If left untreated, BPH can even result in a complete blockage of urine flow.
Geriflo-D Tablet SR provides relief by combining two effective mechanisms:- Dutasteride reduces prostate size by blocking the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that causes the prostate to enlarge.
- Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, allowing urine to flow more easily.
Together, these two medicines help improve symptoms, making it easier for you to urinate, while also reducing the size of the prostate over time.

How Geriflo-D Tablet SR Works
Geriflo-D Tablet SR contains Tamsulosin (0.4mg) and Dutasteride (0.5mg), which work together in different ways to alleviate the symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia:
- Tamsulosin: It is an alpha-blocker that works by relaxing the smooth muscles around the bladder and prostate. This relaxation helps ease the passage of urine and reduces the urgency or difficulty in urination.
- Dutasteride: It is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that decreases the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to prostate enlargement. By lowering DHT levels, it shrinks the prostate over time, reducing symptoms of BPH.
