Product Introduction:

Peldine 5% Cream is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent used to treat and prevent infections in wounds, cuts, and abrasions. It works by slowly releasing iodine, which kills harmful microorganisms and prevents their growth, thus reducing the risk of infection in the affected area. Peldine 5% Cream is ideal for cleaning minor wounds or skin breaks, helping to keep the affected area sterile and free from bacterial, viral, or fungal infections.

Salt Composition:

  • Povidone Iodine (5% w/w)

Uses:

  • Treatment and prevention of wound infection: Effective for disinfecting cuts, scrapes, and other skin wounds, helping to prevent infection and promote healing.

How Peldine Cream Works:

  • Peldine 5% Cream contains Povidone Iodine, which releases iodine slowly when applied to the skin. This iodine exerts antiseptic effects, killing a wide range of harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi, thus preventing infection in the treated area.

Dosage and Application:

  • External use only: Apply Peldine 5% Cream directly to the affected area.
  • Clean and dry the area before applying the cream.
  • Use as prescribed: Apply the cream 2–3 times a day or as directed by your doctor.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the cream to avoid contaminating the wound or transferring germs.
  • Do not use excessive amounts of the cream, as it will not speed up healing but may increase side effects.

Side Effects:

Most side effects are minor and related to the application site. Common side effects include:

  • Skin irritation, redness, or itching at the application site.
  • If you experience a persistent reaction or severe irritation, consult your doctor.
  • Allergic reactions: In rare cases, signs of an allergic reaction may occur, including rash, swelling of the lips, face, or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, dizziness, fainting, or nausea. In such cases, stop using the cream immediately and seek medical help.

Precautions:

  • Avoid direct contact with eyes. If the cream gets into your eyes, wash thoroughly with water and seek medical attention immediately.
  • Do not apply the cream to large open wounds or burns unless directed by a doctor.
  • Avoid using this medicine for prolonged periods or over large areas of skin, as it may cause skin irritation or other side effects.

How to Use:

  1. Clean the affected area and dry it completely.
  2. Apply Peldine 5% Cream evenly on the wound or cut.
  3. Gently rub in the cream to ensure it covers the affected area.
  4. Wash your hands thoroughly after application (unless your hands are the treated area).
  5. Follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
