Description
Product Overview:
Ovral G Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill used primarily for contraception to prevent pregnancy and to regulate irregular menstrual periods. It works through multiple mechanisms: preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary), thickening cervical mucus to hinder sperm movement, and altering the uterine lining to prevent implantation. This makes Ovral G Tablet a reliable and effective method of contraception when used as directed.
Key Ingredients:
- Norgestrel (0.5mg)
A synthetic progestin that works to prevent ovulation and makes the cervical mucus thicker, which blocks sperm from reaching the egg. - Ethinyl Estradiol (0.05mg)
A synthetic estrogen that helps regulate the menstrual cycle and assists in stabilizing the uterine lining.
How to Use:
- Take Ovral G Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably at the same time each day for the best results.
- You can take the tablet with or without food.
- Start the first tablet on Day 1 of your menstrual cycle and continue taking one tablet every day for a month.
- After finishing the current pack, start the next pack immediately.
- If you vomit within 4 hours of taking the tablet, take another dose.
- If you miss a dose and are more than 12 hours late, use additional contraception (such as condoms) for the next 2 days.
Restrictions:
- Do not take Ovral G Tablet if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of blood clots, heart disease, or certain cancers (such as uterine, cervical, or vaginal cancer).
- Smokers over the age of 35 should inform their doctor before starting the medication.
- Always inform your doctor about other medications you are taking, as some drugs may affect the effectiveness of Ovral G Tablet.
Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and may resolve as your body adjusts to the medication. However, if any side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Common side effects include:
- Nausea
- Headache
- Breast pain
- Irregular bleeding or spotting between periods
If you experience any signs of a blood clot, such as swelling, pain in your limbs, chest pain, shortness of breath, or changes in vision, seek immediate medical attention.
How Ovral G Tablet Works:
Ovral G Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive that contains both a progestin (Norgestrel) and an estrogen (Ethinyl Estradiol). It works through three primary mechanisms:
- Prevents ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary).
- Thickens cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to enter the uterus.
- Alters the uterine lining, making it unsuitable for implantation of a fertilized egg.
When used correctly, Ovral G Tablet is an effective, non-interruptive method of contraception.
