Akurit Tablet is a combination medication used to treat tuberculosis (TB), an infectious disease that primarily affects the lungs but can also involve other parts of the body. It works by inhibiting the growth of the bacteria responsible for causing the infection.

How to Use
Take Akurit Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It should be taken on an empty stomach for optimal effectiveness. Swallow the tablet whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. Always take it at the same time each day to maintain its effectiveness. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but do not double the dose to make up for a missed one. Complete the entire course of treatment even if you feel better. Avoid consuming tyramine-rich foods (e.g., cheese, smoked fish, meats, some types of beer) while on this medication.

Restrictions
- Alcohol: Consuming alcohol while taking Akurit Tablet is unsafe and may cause symptoms like flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
- Pregnancy: Akurit Tablet may not be safe to use during pregnancy. Limited human studies suggest potential risks to the developing baby. Consult your doctor before use.
- Breastfeeding: Safe to use during breastfeeding if prescribed by your doctor. Studies suggest that the drug does not pass into breast milk in significant amounts and is not harmful to the baby.
- Driving: Not recommended while taking Akurit Tablet, as it may cause side effects such as fits, mental health issues, or optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve, potentially leading to vision loss), which can impair driving.
- Kidney: Use with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Consult your doctor.
- Liver: Caution is advised for patients with liver disease. Dose adjustments may be needed, and it is not recommended for patients with severe liver disease.
