How to Use Solfix 50mg Syrup:

  • Dosage: The exact dose depends on the type and severity of the infection. Always stick to the dosage and schedule prescribed by the doctor.
  • Missed Dose: If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, repeat the same dose. Do not double the dose if it’s time for the next dose.
  • Do not administer during: Cold or flu symptoms unless a bacterial infection is confirmed, as antibiotics do not work on viral infections.

Uses of Solfix 50mg Syrup in Children:

  • Treatment of bacterial infections such as those affecting the lungs (pneumonia), throat (tonsillitis), urinary tract, skin, and gastrointestinal tract.
  • Treatment of uncomplicated typhoid fever.

  • Quick relief: It usually works within a few days to help your child feel better.
  • Prevents infection spread: By killing the bacteria causing the infection, it stops the infection from worsening or spreading.

Common Side Effects of Solfix 50mg Syrup in Children:

Solfix 50mg Syrup is generally well-tolerated and does not cause serious side effects. However, some children may experience mild and temporary side effects as their body adjusts to the medication. Common side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Stomach pain
  • Indigestion
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching)

If any of these side effects persist or become bothersome, consult your doctor. These side effects typically subside once the child’s body adjusts to the medicine.

Precautions:

  • Medical history: Inform the doctor of any allergies, heart problems, blood disorders, liver or kidney issues, or gastrointestinal problems. This helps the doctor adjust the treatment plan and dosage.
  • Do not self-medicate: Only give Solfix 50mg Syrup as prescribed by the doctor, and do not skip doses or stop treatment early, even if the symptoms seem to improve. Stopping antibiotics prematurely can lead to resistance and make the infection harder to treat in the future.

How Solfix Syrup Works:

Solfix 50mg Syrup contains Cefixime (50mg), an antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial cell wall. This cell wall is essential for bacteria’s survival. By disrupting the cell wall formation, the medicine stops the bacteria from growing and spreading, helping to clear the infection.
