It is effective against infections in the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract.

  • Amoxycillin (400mg/5ml)
  • Clavulanic Acid (57mg/5ml)

How to Use Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup

  1. Dosage:
The exact dosage will depend on your child’s age, weight, and the severity of the infection. Typically, it is prescribed to be taken 2 to 3 times a day. Always follow the doctor’s instructions and complete the prescribed course.
  2. Administration:
    • Shake the bottle well before use.
    • Dissolve the powder in sterile water as instructed by your doctor.
    • Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup can be taken with or without food, but it’s preferable to give it with food to reduce the risk of stomach upset and improve absorption.
    • Use the measuring spoon or syringe provided to ensure accurate dosing.
  3. Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for the next dose, skip the missed one—do not double dose.
  4. Vomiting:
If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, wait for your child to calm down and then repeat the same dose. If vomiting happens after 30 minutes, do not redose; continue with the next scheduled dose.

Common Side Effects of Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup

Most side effects are mild and tend to go away as your child’s body adjusts to the medicine. Common side effects include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Rashes or allergic reactions
  • Mucocutaneous candidiasis (a fungal infection of the skin and mucous membranes)

If any of these side effects persist or become bothersome, consult your child’s doctor. Severe allergic reactions are rare but may require immediate medical attention.

How Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup Works

Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup contains two active ingredients:

  1. Amoxycillin:
Amoxycillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by preventing bacteria from forming their cell walls, which is essential for their survival. By disrupting the formation of the bacterial cell wall, it kills the bacteria and clears the infection.
  2. Clavulanic Acid:
Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks the enzyme beta-lactamase, produced by resistant bacteria. This enzyme normally breaks down amoxycillin and renders it ineffective. By inhibiting this enzyme, clavulanic acid allows amoxycillin to work effectively, even against resistant bacteria.

This combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid makes Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup an effective treatment for a wide range of bacterial infections, including those caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria, such as resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB).

Uses of Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup in Children

  • Treatment of Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB):
Agunex CV DS Dry Syrup is particularly effective in treating MDR-TB, where the causative bacteria are resistant to standard treatments. The combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid overcomes the bacterial defense mechanisms and kills the bacteria causing tuberculosis.
  • Treatment of Bacterial Infections:
It is also used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including:

    • Ear infections
    • Skin infections
    • Respiratory infections (such as pneumonia or bronchitis)
    • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
    • Infections of the nose, throat, and chest
    • Dental infections
